The rising sun had been pink before, sometimes even yellow. Other times, the sky just remained a beautiful blend of dark to light blues. The air would be slightly chilled and the breeze would nip at the tips of your ears and nose. The grass would weep for the joy of the sun, the honeydew falling off sharp tips or rolling backward on the smooth green slide. The mountain would be blindsided, only seeing its shadow rise and then recede to the glory of the morning time.
This morning was a little different. The sunlight was like a soft white blanket to the skies, the blues becoming paler and softer. The morning crisp was sharper than most, biting into night gowns and sleep shirts of many. The grass no longer wept, but careened over under the weight of the soft white lumps that descended as little angels from the heavens. The mountain was still blindsided, its tips awash in white purity as its shadows drew back, yielding to the grandeur of winter's bloom.
But anyway, I never in my life did anything remotely related to snow and so I did the snow myself.
Proper Creds go to
For the whole background itself, as it was the base for the whole idea. THANKS MAN! For the castle. Awesome, place, by the way. It really came in handy. THANKS! ....Okay, I totally googled the hell out of that pond thing but eh (of course I'm giving myself credit this time) For sitting on a very low perch (Nikki knows what I mean) and putting this load of junk together on a whim.
Well...that's about it, I guess. This whole piece was just a spur of the moment thing.
Tools: Photoshop CS5 (though this can be done just as easily with any other version out there) Adesso 4x6" (supposed) tablet (which is basically a mouse in the shape of a pen since the driver doesn't work) If memory serves correctly, 27 layers narrowed down to about 7 or 9 after dicarding the scrap pieces (most were duplicates.
Photoshop tools used: Elliptical Marquee Magic Wand Layer Options (normal, multiply, etc...) Hue/Saturation (for the snowy grass. yup...it's possible WITHOUT duplicating the layer) Layer Mask Default Photoshop Brushes
Bacground Music: Maybach pt 2 Instrumental w/hook...set on repeat (I love instrumentals...)
Time Elapsed: 1hr, 15 mins.( Better part of which was spent torn between something galactic or something natural and rural)
I hope you like it. I'm just really getting into Photomanipulation and so I'll need to exercise using models for what I want. But until then I need a whole crap load of practice. I'm sure more could have been done to this but since I wanted to stick what with Deviant Art had as stock... I ran out of resources. And I was not going to wait an extra day to find some more. Lazy...Yes. But I do what I can.
Tell me what you think! Even if you fave it. It's nice to know what you thought about it. And nice to have comments on the deviation when someone decides to stop and take a look -wink- -wink- -hint- hint-
I like the enchanted feel of this piece, with the wispy clouds and the twinkling...well, whatever they are.xD Faeries, maybe?
My main critique is that the yellowness of the lake is distracting and makes the piece feel less natural. I would have shown a reflection of the castle instead, or just the sky, depending on how close to the castle you wanted the lake to be.
I do like how you chose to do the snow...along with the colors you used in the rest of the picture, it makes me think of late fall, and the frost on the grass in the morning.^^
Nice picture you've created. Sorta gives out an archaic feel if you know what I mean. Although I think the sky is a bit too large, or is it just me?
Anyhow, I love the sparky sparky white stuff (is it snow? I can't tell) you've placed. Reminds me of anime with stuff like that on dramatic scenes. Totally faving it!
haha thanks! the field was low res and that kind of blocked most entries to different clubs. but i liked it.
yup! it's snow alright. one day I'll be able to actually see it for myself so until then ill dream. i put the castle in the distance because...well idk. it seemed like a bright idea at the time.
I see, well we all have our own places in art, and I just got lucky as to being able to create something like that. After all, I made it without even using a photoshop, so it's really a bit difficult on my part.

I'm glad you like this piece, though.
You're welcome.:3

Well, we all have different tastes in terms of art, so I guess if you like what you're doing, it's already fine.
We're practically on the same boat when it comes to snow. Got no snow here. Thanks for the fav also btw.
